Group Trips for Minimum 2: We also offer group trips where the minimum number to book is 2. This option allows travelers to explore destinations with a companion of their choice. Solo travelers can also join these trips by paying a single supplement fee, which varies depending on the destination.

Private Trips: For those looking for a more personalized experience, we provide private trips that can be customized according to individual preferences. These trips are available for those seeking a private or customized adventure.

Day Trips: Additionally, we offer day trips for those who prefer shorter excursions or are looking to explore specific attractions or activities within a limited time frame.

How many people will be on my trip?

We believe in the beauty of small group travel. Most of our adventures accommodate intimate groups of 12-20 people, with an average of 15 travelers. You can find specific group sizes listed on each trip’s overview page on our website.

What is the age limit for travelers to join your trips?

Our group trips are tailored for young adults aged 21 and above. We welcome travelers in this age group to join us on our adventures, where they can explore diverse destinations and cultures alongside like-minded individuals. Whether you’re embarking on a solo journey or with friends, our trips offer opportunities for discovery, adventure, and personal growth.

Can I travel alone with GoHabesha?

Absolutely! Solo travel is celebrated within the GoHabesha community. Many of our travelers embark on solo journeys, seeking to connect with like-minded individuals and create unforgettable experiences together. If you’re booking a group trip tailored for solo travelers, there won’t be an additional charge unless you opt for your own room. However, if you book a group trip requiring a minimum of two travelers, a single supplement fee applies, which varies depending on the destination.

How are rooming arrangements managed for travelers?

Rooming on our trips is typically organized on a twin-share basis. If you’re traveling with a companion, you’ll be paired with them. For solo travelers, we match individuals with someone of the same gender, based on passport information. However, it’s important to note that while we strive to create safe and inclusive environments, travelers are responsible for ensuring their own comfort and safety. Additionally, single rooms are available for an additional price on most of our trips for travelers who prefer privacy. If your gender identity differs from what’s on your passport, please contact us to discuss rooming options. 

Are flights included in the trip prices?

No, flights are not included in our standard travel packages. We believe in offering you the freedom to book your own flights, providing flexibility in choosing your itinerary, seating preferences, and other personal preferences. However, flights may be included in our all-inclusive packages. Please refer to the specific details of each package for clarification.

Are airport transfers included in the trip prices?

Yes, airport transfers are included in our trip prices for your convenience. To arrange your transfer, you must provide us with your flight information at least 7 days prior to the trip. This allows us to ensure a seamless travel experience for you. Please note that without your flight details provided within this timeframe, we won’t be able to arrange airport transfer services. In such cases, you’ll need to make your own arrangements to reach the hotel.

Can I extend my stay by adding extra nights before or after the group trip?

Absolutely! Simply contact us during the booking process, and we’ll arrange the additional nights for you.

What if I miss my flight, arrive late, or need to leave early?

If you miss your flight or arrive late, you might miss part of the itinerary. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for missed segments, but you can catch up with the group upon your arrival.

Joining the trip late isn’t feasible as we continue with the itinerary without interruptions. However, if necessary, you may leave the trip early. We kindly request that you refrain from booking unless you can commit to completing the entire trip itinerary. If you anticipate needing to join a tour late or leave one early, please contact us before booking to explore your options further.

In the event of flight delays, cancellations, or changes by the airline, GoHabesha is not liable, and refunds are not provided. We recommend purchasing travel protection to safeguard against such instances and rebooking flights to meet the group will be your responsibility. 

How does booking flights work?

You are responsible for arranging your own flights for both arrival and departure as they are not included in our trip prices. Once the group trip is paid in full, we will send you a confirmation email along with instructions on what time to arrive at the hotel. Please refrain from booking your flight until you receive these instructions from us. This ensures that your arrival aligns with the group’s itinerary, providing a seamless start to your trip.

What's your cancellation and refund policy?

We work with multiple tour companies, so please note that cancellation policies may vary for each tour. Therefore, please refer to the specific trip you are interested in for its cancellation policy. However, here’s a general outline of our cancellation policy for most tours:

We have a $49 processing fee for all cancellations.

  • If cancelled 61 days or more before departure, the deposit is non-refundable and will be issued as “Travel Credit” on your account for a future trip.
  • If cancelled between 60-31 days before departure, 50% of the trip cost is non-refundable. Any additional amount paid will be refunded or provided as travel credit.
  • If cancelled 30 days or less before departure, no refund is possible; a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking cost will be charged.

Please be aware that cancellation policies for airline tickets may differ. Once airfare is purchased, tickets will be issued and are subject to airline-assessed cancellation fees and any non-refundable government taxes.

No refund can be provided if you fail to join the trip, join it after departure, or leave it prior to its completion for any reason. 

Further, any non-refundable deposits made to third-party suppliers and third-party cancellation fees will be subtracted from any refunds due under this section or trip transfers. In some instances, this may result in a refund amount of $0 after these subtractions.

What are your deposit & payment policies?

To secure your spot on any trip, we require a non-refundable $195 deposit. The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure. For trips booked within 60 days of departure, full payment is required upfront. We request full payment because we need to confirm each part of your adventure with our local operators and suppliers as we go. If your place on the trip is unavailable, we’ll provide you with a full refund.

Additionally, failure to pay the balance on time will result in the loss of your deposit and seat on the trip. While deposits are non-refundable, they can be used as a credit for future trips if you are unable to join.

How long will it take for my refund to be credited to my credit card?

We try to process refunds as quickly as possible, but it may take 14 to 21 days depending on your bank and external systems that are out of our control. If the funds aren’t back in your account within 21 days, please contact your bank.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, GoHabesha requires all group trip travelers to have travel insurance with at least $200,000 USD coverage for medical incidents, emergency evacuation, and repatriation. Proof of insurance must be provided within 72 hours of booking at info@gohabesha.com. Travel medical insurance is mandatory, and if your existing coverage doesn’t meet our requirements, additional travel medical insurance is necessary.

 

We recommend your policy also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage. Some insurance options meeting our minimum requirements include World Nomads and SafetyWing. Ensure your planned activities are covered.

Adding ‘Cancel for any Reason’ protection is optional but highly recommended for inclusive coverage against emergencies. Review and understand your chosen insurance terms. Claims should be made through the company issuing your policy.

What documents are required for participation in a GoHabesha trip?

To participate, you need a valid passport. It’s essential to ensure you have all necessary travel documents, including passport, visas, and travel insurance. Your passport should comply with the ‘Six-Month Rule’, ensuring it has at least six months of validity remaining from the date of your entry or departure to or from the international destination. Failure to meet these requirements may result in denial of entry. Please note, GoHabesha disclaims responsibility if participants fail to prepare their travel documents accordingly.

How should I handle visa requirements for my GoHabesha trip?

Ensure to purchase your flight tickets and secure the necessary visa within thirty (30) days following your booking with GoHabesha. Some countries may require a tourist visa for entry, and it’s your responsibility to obtain it. Make sure to comply with all visa requirements and timelines to avoid any issues with your trip. Please note, GoHabesha disclaims responsibility if participants fail to prepare their travel documents and visa accordingly.

What health and safety guidelines do I need to follow during my trip?

We require all travelers to comply with local regulations, laws, and our health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable group adventure while minimizing the risk of COVID-19 spread. Each destination may have specific vaccination, testing, and health screening requirements for entry, exit, and transit. It is your responsibility to check the local government websites of your destination(s) to ensure compliance with these requirements, including evidence of recent COVID-19 test results or vaccination.
